It’s been a quite quiet year for box office as the spreading of the covid19. However, the movie industry is still figuring out how to cope with this unexpected pandemic to bring the best cinematographic works to movie lovers on many streaming platforms.
Here is the list of top best movies 2021 that covers all movie genres. You don’t want to miss it. Let check it out now!
Riders of Justice
Movie genre: Action/Drama
The first movie in the list of best movies 2021 is Riders of Justice, the best action movie so far. It’s clear by now that there’s nothing that Mads Mikkelsen can’t do — whether it’s acting a particularly athletic bit of jazz ballet, crying blood at a poker desk, surviving a aircraft crash within the Arctic Circle, or elegantly supping on human flesh. In Anders Thomas Jensen’s revenge drama Riders of Justice, Mikkelsen manages to simultaneously lean into and dismantle hard-guy tropes at the same time as gambling a stoic soldier reeling from the demise of his wife in a teach crash. Rather than confront his repressed grief or console his mourning daughter, he embraces a concept that the accident changed into certainly planned and starts operating with a trio of programmers who suppose they’ve exposed a conspiracy. It’s the rare motion film that concludes with the idea that everybody should have just long gone to therapy.

The little things
Movie genre: Sensational/Crime
Not competing with any “blockbuster”, the psychological drama “The Little Things” by Warner Bros. Pictures continued to top the list of the best-selling films in the North American market over the weekend, although the second weekend of this work was only $ 2.1 million, grossing from 2,206 theaters.
Written and directed by John Lee Hancock, the film opened on January 29, bringing together many A-list Hollywood stars, including three Oscar winners including Denzel Washington, Rami Malek, and Jared. Leto. “The Little Things” revolves around the pursuit of two police officers (played by Washington and Malek) to arrest a serial killer that terrifies the residents of Los Angeles.
No sudden move
Movie genre: Crime/ Drama
Steven Soderbergh’s crime drama dropped directly onto HBO Max, but it’s up there with some of his best work. It’s a period piece about mobsters in 1950s Detroit pitched at a minor key that reveals facets of its twisty storyline as it goes along. Don Cheadle plays a low-level gangster assigned to what seems like an easy job. He’s paired up with Benicio Del Toro, and their fractured alliance gets more complicated as they get deeper into the heart of the conspiracy they’ve been thrust into, which goes up higher on the food chain than anyone might expect. Though the plot can get downright overheated at times, particularly as characters inevitably start to double- and triple-cross one another in the climax, Soderbergh keeps the engine humming by making inventive visual choices throughout and allowing his performers, particularly his two excellent leads, to take the wheel when necessary. Let enjoy this best movies 2021 so far.
A quiet place part II
Movie genre: Horror/ Spirit
The sequel to John Krasinski’s 2018 alien-invasion horror hit is almost as nerve-racking as the first. It opens with a bravura flashback — an explosive, stomach-gnawing look at the day the sound-seeking aliens first came to the quiet town of Millbrook — but then continues from where the previous film left off. After the death of her husband, Evelyn Abbott (Emily Blunt) struggles to find safe harbor for her surviving children, Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus (Noah Jupe), and her newborn baby.
Barb & Star go to Vista Del Mar
Movie genre: Comedy/ Drama
Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar took us by surprise like a benevolent water spirit, a reference you’ll get if you watch this truly zany comedy from the minds of Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo, who also star as the titular Barb and Star, best friends who decide to leave their little Nebraska town for a vacation in the fictional Floridian paradise of Vista Del Mar. What they don’t know is that a pale villain with a severe bob (also played by Wiig) is targeting that very spot because of a personal grievance. Barb & Star has multiple musical numbers, some wild cameos, and an infectiously goofy spirit largely thanks to the brilliant work of the pair of women at its center. It’s hard to describe the specific lunacy of this film, so just go watch and be swept away by the good vibes.
Movie genre: Action/ Splendid
Nobody! Bob Odenkirk takes one hell of a beating in Nobody – and, per a joke made by his Hutch Mansell, you should see the other guys. Director Ilya Naishuller’s film is an obvious riff on John Wick, concerned as it is with a non-descript and seemingly meek family man who, following a home invasion, taps back into his government-assassin true nature and goes on a rampage that eventually inflames the ire of a Russian gangster (Aleksei Serebryakov).
In the Heights
Movie genre: Musical/ Drama
It is a shortcoming not to add In the Heights to the best movies 2021 list. The film is adapted from the musical of the same name by Quiara Alegría Hudes and Lin-Manuel Miranda, revolving around Latin American life in the Washington Heights area. Typical for the community are young faces such as Usnavi (Anthony Ramos), Vanessa (Melissa Barrera), Nina (Leslie Grace) and Benny (Corey Hawkins). They have their own dreams such as returning to their homeland, becoming a fashion designer, studying at Stanford University, but they all face obstacles. Interweaving with happy and sad stories is the rekindled romance between Usnavi – Vanessa, Benny – Nina. While life is difficult, people here are excited when one of them wins a lottery ticket worth 96,000 USD.
The boy behind the door
Why The boy behind the door movie is reviewed as in the list of best movies 2021? This thriller from David Charbonier and Justin Powell is beautifully made and unstintingly brutal about the peril its young protagonists find themselves in. Bobby (Lonnie Chavis) and Kevin (Ezra Dewey) are besties who are grabbed while killing time before a baseball game, and find themselves in a remote house belonging to captors with some very nefarious intentions. When he discovers that Kevin’s been chained up in a locked room, Bobby creeps around the dark building looking for a way to help his friend. Child endangerment can be one of the cheapest ways of getting a reaction out of an audience, but The Boy Behind the Door treats its characters’ fear and determination with an unaffected seriousness that eliminates any sense of exploitation, leaving only heart-in-your-throat suspense.
The killing of two lovers
Movie genre: Drama/ Mystic
In a barren Utah town where the sky seems to weigh down upon its inhabitants, David (Clayne Crawford) strives to deal with an unwanted separation from his wife Nikki (Sepideh Moafi), who lives in their old home with their four kids, and is sharing a bed with Derek (Chris Coy), much to David’s chagrin. Opening with the sight of David pointing a gun at his wife and her lover in bed, the film proceeds to detail its protagonist’s efforts to mend his marriage while coping with the barely suppressed killing rage ignited by his circumstances.
This is Not a Burial, It’s a Resurrection
Movie genre: Drama/ Narrative
Amongst the pythonic mountains of landlocked Lesotho, an 80 year old widow winds up her earthly affairs, makes arrangements for her burial and prepares to die. But when her village is threatened with forced resettlement due to the construction of a reservoir, she finds a new will to live and ignites a collective spirit of defiance within her community. In the final dramatic moments of her life, Mantoa’s legend is forged and made eternal.
The Amusement park
Commissioned by the Lutheran Society to highlight the problems of aging and elder abuse, George A. Romero’s newly restored 1973 “lost film” The Amusement Park is a nightmare about the myriad indignities of growing old. Trapped in a cycle of torment, an aged man in a white suit (Lincoln Maazel) visits an amusement park where he and other senior citizens suffer one misfortune after another, be it getting into a bumper car accident with a derisive younger driver, being accused of perversion for talking to children, or getting mugged by bikers who resemble not-too-distant cousins of A Clockwork Orange’s droogs.
